PUBLIC FORUM
The Galax Planning Commission will meet at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 to hold a “Town Hall”, specifically a public forum facilitated by staff to provide information to the public and to solicitate information from the public related to planning initiatives. The forum will be held to discuss an amendment to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, incorporating in planning concepts such as urban development areas, small area plans, overlay districts, traditional neighborhood design, and the like, and specifically to consider the Creekside Small Area Plan and incorporation with other initiatives. Staff will facilitate the meeting, with a presentation, and a public information sharing session.
PLANNING COMMISSION – WORK SESSION
Please take note, members of the City Council are invited to participate in the Planning Commission’s work session for the purpose of discussion regarding amending the Comprehensive Plan to include generally the Creekside Small Area Plan and proposed Urban Development Area(s), as well as updates to the zoning ordinance in order to implement updates to the Comprehensive Plan.; three or more members of the Galax City Council may be present.
