The Galax City Council is accepting letters of interest from candidates that wish to be considered for two appointments to the Galax School Board. The appointments are for a three (3) year term beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025. Candidates must be residents of the City of Galax. Letters of interest shall be submitted by April 6, 202 at 5:00 PM to Matt Settlemyer, City Manager, at 111 E. Grayson St, Galax, VA 24333. Candidates for appointment will be invited to discuss their interest in serving on the Galax City School Board with City Council at their April 11, 2021 meeting or at a later special called meeting. The City Council reserves the opportunity to conduct closed interviews with each candidate during this meeting. The appointment will be made during the regular City Council meeting on May 9, 2022.
