The Galax Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room of the Galax Municipal Building located at 111 E. Grayson Street, Galax, VA to receive comments on the following request:

The Fuller Center for Housing – GCCA has requested a zoning variance for property located at 660 Matthews Street, Galax, VA (Tax Parcel 56-85,86,87) to permit construction of a new residence that will encroach into the front setback requirement. City of Galax Zoning Ordinance § 160-33 requires a 55-foot minimum setback from the street centerline for structures located in a Residential Medium-Density (R-2) District where the street right-of way is less than 30-feet.

All interested citizens will be afforded the opportunity to speak. Additional information may be obtained and the submitted Application for Zoning Variance may be examined by contacting the Zoning Administrator’s office.
