Notice is hereby given that the Galax City Council will, on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be called on the agenda, in the City Council Chambers of the Galax Municipal Building, 111 E. Grayson Street, Galax, Virginia, conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on a proposed Ordinance to enact regulations concerning the operation of certain retail establishments, including without limitation locations selling tobacco products, nicotine vapor products, alternative nicotine products, and hemp products intended for smoking, especially when those sales occur in close proximity to child day centers and schools, amending the City Code of the City of Galax, Virginia, Chapter 116, by adding a new Article III as follows:
Article III: Retail Sales of Certain Tobacco Products, Nicotine Vapor Products, Alternative Nicotine Products and Hemp Products
A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available for inspection in the offices of the City Manager, 111 E. Grayson Street, Galax, VA 24333. All interested citizens are invited to attend.
