Notice is hereby given that the Galax City Council will, on Monday, April 13 2026 at 6:00pm., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be called on the agenda, in the City Council Chambers of the Galax municipal Building, 111 E. Grayson Street, Galax Virginal, conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on a proposed Ordinance confirming the local recordation taxes on deeds and other applicable instruments admitted to record in the circuit court clerk’s office for Grayson and Carroll Counties. The proposed ordinance will confirm the existing rates of 1/3 of the state recordation taxes, as provided by the Code of Virginia. A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available for inspection in the offices of the City Manager, 111 E. Grayson Street, Galax, VA 24333. All interested Citizens are invited to attend.
