The resignation of Councilman Travis Haynes effective November 8th, 2023, has created a vacancy on the City Council of the City of Galax, Virginia.
The City Council is accepting letters of interest from persons who wish to be considered for appointment to fill the vacancy until a special election is held. Applicants must reside in the City of Galax and be qualified to vote.
The City Council encourages all interested citizens, who are residents of the City of Galax and qualified to vote, to submit a letter of interest stating their desire to serve on Council, community involvement and other qualifications, and contact information.
